Alpha-Beta Titanium Alloys

Alpha-Beta Titanium Alloys

Alpha-beta titanium alloys have compositions that contain both alpha and beta phase stabilizer elements, which retain more beta phase after final heat treatment than the near alpha alloys. The characteristics of this type of alloys can be improved by heat treatments and/or thermomechanical processing. Alpha-beta titanium alloys are generally medium to high strength materials with tensile strengths from 620 to 1250 MPa and having useful creep resistance up to 350 to 400 °C. It can be seen that the creep resistance is lower than alpha and near-alpha alloys, that is due to the presence of the beta phase. In addition, they have good corrosion resistance, good structural stability, good toughness, good plasticity, and high-temperature deformation properties. They are popular when an application demands a good balance between versatile corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.

As one of the leading suppliers of metals and alloys, Alfa Chemistry offers the most comprehensive alpha-beta titanium alloys.
