Iron-Nickel Alloys

Iron-nickel alloys refer to that nickel alloys containing iron as the primary component. Obviously, its main components are nickel and iron, but also contain Cr, Si, S, P, C and other trace elements. In general, the nickel content of iron-nickel alloys is in the range of 35%-80%. The most prominent performance advantage of the alloys is that has high permeability, especially in weak and medium magnetic fields. Therefore, iron-nickel alloys are among the most important soft magnetic alloy systems. The more interesting performance is that a broad variety of qualitatively different magnetic properties can be obtained by adjusting the composition and the preparation process. The high and versatile permeability of iron-nickel alloys makes them very useful materials for the electronic communications and electrical power engineering industries. In addition to high permeability, iron-nickel alloys possess the properties of excellent processing and a low coefficient of thermal expansion.
