Alpha and Near-Alpha Titanium Alloys

Alpha and Near-Alpha Titanium Alloys

Titanium alloys consisting of mainly alpha phase are called alpha titanium alloys, but if small amounts of beta phase are present, the alloy is classified as a near-alpha titanium alloy. Alpha titanium alloys contain aluminum as the major alloying element, stabilizing α-phase. For near-alpha titanium alloys, besides alpha phase stabilizer (aluminum), they are alloyed by 1-2% of beta phase stabilizers (molybdenum, silicon). Alpha and near-alpha titanium alloys have good fracture toughness and creep resistance combined with moderate mechanical strength, which is retained at high temperatures. And they can be stress relieved and annealed, but cannot be strengthened by any type of heat treatment. These alloys can be used in elevated temperature applications in the aerospace industries.

As one of the leading suppliers of metals and alloys, Alfa Chemistry offers the most comprehensive alpha and near-alpha titanium alloys. The products can be supplied in the various forms, including bar, wire, strip, foil, pipe, tube, sheet, plate, flats, forgings, extrusion, etc. And we have most products in stock to suit your needs and for quick delivery.
