Molybdenum is a shiny, silvery metal in Group 6B between chromium and tungsten. It is a naturally occurring metallic trace element found in natural minerals, but not as the free metal. Molybdenum is one of metals which have the highest melting temperatures of all the elements. Yet unlike most other metals with high melting point, its density is only 25% higher than that of iron. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is the lowest of the engineering materials, and its thermal conductivity exceeds that of most elements.
Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality molybdenum and molybdenum-based alloys at a competitive price. We can also customize various shapes of molybdenum products according to your requirements or drawings.
Pure Molybdenum Products
In addition to alloys, molybdenum can find various applications in the industry. For instance, it can be used as a catalyst in petroleum refineries to help remove sulfur from natural gas and refined petroleum products. Molybdenum can be combined with sulfur to form molybdenum disulfide, which helps lubricate two-stroke engines, bicycle coaster brakes, bullets, ski waxes and more. And it also can be used in pigments and Fertilizers.

Molybdenum-based Alloys
Molybdenum is mostly used to make alloys. When added to steel and cast irons, molybdenum enhances strength, hardenability, weldability, toughness, elevated temperature strength, and corrosion resistance. When alloying with nickel, it improves resistance to both corrosion and high-temperature creep deformation. Molybdenum-based alloys are mainly used in engine parts, heating elements, drills, and saw blades.
Molybdenum-based alloys we can provide include molybdenum-titanium-zirconium (Mo-Ti-Zr) alloys, molybdenum-titanium (Mo-Ti) alloys, molybdenum-rhenium (Mo-Re) alloys, molybdenum-tungsten (Mo-W) alloys.
