UNS R54620

Description

6242
TITANIUM ALLOY

Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo, also known as Ti 6-2-4-2, is a near alpha titanium alloy mixed with elements like zirconium, molybdenum, and aluminum. Near-alpha alloys contain a small amount of ductile beta-phase. Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo is known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. And it also has excellent stability and creep resistance at high temperatures (as high as 550 °C). These characteristics make it suitable for high temperature applications. It often used in the aerospace industry for creating high-temperature jet engines and the automotive industry to create high performance automotive valves.
