Silver Alloys
Description
Like other precious metals, silver is an amazing material with many unique properties. Its plasticity is second only to gold, it has the highest thermal conductivity of any metal, it has antimicrobial properties, it is reasonably resistant to corrosion, and it is the most electrically conductive of all the periodic elements. The highest purity of silver commercially attainable is 99.95% (nominally considered 100%), but because of its softness and susceptibility to damage, silver is rarely used in pure form. For most practical applications silver is mixed or alloyed with other harder metals, such as tin, zinc, copper, lead and cadmium. In general, the other metals used in alloying are not so resistant, therefore the addition of other hardening metals tends to decrease tarnish resistance.

- Silver-Copper Alloys
Silver (Ag) can be alloyed to copper (Cu) to improve its hardness. There are many grades of Silver-Copper alloy, Ag92.5Cu7.5 is called sterling silver which is the best-known silver alloy, Ag90Cu10 is called coin silver, Ag72Cu28 is called silver copper. The color of the silver-copper alloy changes with the copper content in the alloy, from silver white to rose red.
Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality Silver-Copper alloys in the shapes of foil, rod, wire, powder etc. We can also customize various shapes of Silver-Copper products according to your requirements or drawings.

- Silver-Nickel Alloys
Silver-Nickel (Ag-Ni) is a two-phase alloy. Alloying silver with nickel generally increases the hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance at the expense of electrical and thermal conductivity. Silver-Nickel alloys are widely used as contact materials in switches in domestic appliances, control and selector switches, circuit breakers, and automotive switches up to several hundred amperes of current.
Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality Silver-Nickel alloys in the shape of rod. We can also customize various shapes of Silver-Nickel products according to your requirements or drawings.

- Silver-Palladium Alloys
The addition of palladium to silver can increases its hardness, nobility and resistance to tarnishing and its melting point or create a more refractory alloy. Silver-Palladium alloys have been used for dentistry in applications such as bridges and crowns, in conductive films and pastes, as well as to make multilayer capacitors. They are also used in electronic applications.
Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality Silver-Palladium alloys in the shapes of foil and tube. We can also customize various shapes of Silver-Palladium products according to your requirements or drawings.

Applications
The applications of silver alloys for coinage and the arts dates back several centuries. Because of its unique chemical and physical properties, silver alloys have also become essential materials in the industrial age. Sterling silverware, coinage, jewelry, brazing alloys, electrical contacts, catalysts, and batteries are among the most significant traditional applications. Emerging technologies, such as electronics, high-temperature superconductors, and metal deposition by sputtering (glass coatings), have expanded the uses of silver alloys.
