Magnesium Alloy ZE (and EZ) Series
Compared with traditional magnesium-aluminum (Mg-Al) and magnesium-zinc (Mg-Zn) alloys, magnesium alloys with rare earth as the alloying elements have higher strength and creep resistance which expands its application. In addition, the addition of rare earth metals can promote the formation of denser corrosion product films on the magnesium alloys surface, so as to further improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys effectively. Rare earth metals are often broken up into two categories according to the atomic weight: light and heavy. The developed high strength and heat resistant magnesium alloys with rare earth metals as adding elements are mainly heavy rare earth alloys. ZE (and EZ) series magnesium alloys, containing Zn and rare earth metals, have the advantages of high strength and low density.
