Zinc is a bluish-white metal with a lustrous appearance. It is the 23rd most abundant element in the Earth's crust. Minerals containing zinc include sphalerite, wurtzite, smithsonite and hemimorphite, etc. Zinc is brittle and crystalline at room temperatures, while it becomes ductile and malleable when heated between 110°C and 150°C. Zinc is a fairly reactive metal that combines with oxygen and other non-metals and can react with dilute acids to release hydrogen.

Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality zinc and zinc-based alloys at a competitive price. We can also customize various shapes of zinc products according to your requirements or drawings.

Pure Zinc Products

Metallic zinc is produced by roasting the sulfide ores and then either leaching the oxidized product in sulfuric acid or smelting it in a blast furnace. Zinc is won from the leach solution by electrolysis or is condensed from the blast furnace gas and then distilled of impurities. Zinc has a wide range of applications, and the most two common uses are plating and die casting.

Zinc-based Alloys

Zinc-base alloys are used for two main functions, casting and wrought applications. Casting alloys are used for sand, permanent mold, plaster mold, shell mold, and investment casting. Wrought zinc has chemical characteristics particularly adapted to certain uses, such as dry batteries and photoengraver's plate.

Zinc-based alloys we can provide include zinc-aluminum (Zn-Al) alloys, zinc-aluminum-copper-magnesium (Zn-Al-Cu-Mg) alloys, zinc-copper (Zn-Cu) alloys, zinc-nickel (Zn-Ni) alloys.
