3D Printing AISI 4140
UNS G41400
Description
AISI 4140 alloy steel is a chromium-, molybdenum-, and manganese-containing low alloy steel. It has high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness, and torsional strength. With subsequent heat treatment processes, the mechanical properties of the material can be adapted very flexibly to the loads that occur. When it comes to 3D printing manufacturing, defect-free processing must be achieved by using specific alloy compositions and optimized process parameters due to its limited weldability.
