Chromium-Nickel Alloys
Chromium-nickel alloys refer to that the nickel alloys containing chromium as the primary component. Further, chromium-nickel alloys contain several series products, including (1) Nickel-chromium-iron series alloys. These alloys combine elements of nickel, chromium and iron makes them can resist oxidation and high-temperature corrosion. One of the representative products is Alloy 800. (2) Nickel-chromium-molybdenum series alloys. These alloys provide high corrosion resistance especially with regard to reducing acids such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. One of the best known of these alloys is Alloy C-276. (3) Nickel-chromium-cobalt series alloys. These nickel alloys have improved creep rupture strength by adding chromium and molybdenum. Alloy 617 is an example. Thanks to the good properties of chromium-nickel alloys, they have been widely used in aviation, aerospace, petroleum, chemical industry, electric power, machinery and other fields.
