Tin is a soft, pliable, silvery-white metal which is adapted to all kinds of cold-working, such as rolling, spinning, and extrusion. Tin-containing minerals are rare, and the commercial one is cassiterite. Tin is not easily oxidized and resists corrosion from distilled sea and soft tap water, and can be attacked by strong acids, alkalis and acid salts, because a thin, invisible, protective film of stannic oxide is formed spontaneously by reaction with the oxygen of the air.

Alfa Chemistry provides high-quality tin and tin-based alloys at a competitive price. We can also customize various shapes of tin products according to your requirements or drawings.

Pure Tin Products

There are a number of ways tin can be used. For example, the low melting point of tin and its firm adhesion to clean surfaces of iron, steel, copper, and copper alloys facilitate its use as an oxidation-resistant coating material. Tin prevents corrosion in these materials, so it can be used to can food and drink. Due to its resistance to atmospheric corrosion and low melting point, it can be used to make sheet glass.

Tin-based Alloys

Since pure tin is relatively weak, it is not put to structural uses unless alloyed with other metals in such as bronzes, lead, iron, zinc, antimony, bismuth, etc. Tin-based alloys have a wide range of applications. For example, tin-lead alloys and tin-copper alloys are used for bright corrosion resistant hard coatings. Tin-nickel alloys are used for decorative corrosion resistant coatings. Tin-zinc alloy is used in electronic components and televisions, radios, etc.

Tin-based alloys we can provide include tin-antimony (Sn-Sb) alloys, tin-lead-silver (Sn-Pb-Ag) alloys, tin- zinc (Sn-Zn) alloys, tin-lead-antimony (Sn-Pb-Sb) alloys, tin-lead (Sn-Pb) alloys, tin-silver (Sn-Ag) alloys, tin-lead (Sn-Pb) alloys, tin-bismuth (Sn-Bi) alloys.
