Super Invar 32-5
UNS K93500
Description
32-5
Super Invar 32-5 is a magnetic, austenitic, solid solution alloy with main chemical component of nickel, iron, and cobalt. The alloy was originally designed to provide minimum thermal expansion at room temperatures with the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) around one third of the CTE of regular Invar and its CTE is almost zero after specific heat processing. Super Invar 32-5 also has the austenite stability to service temperatures at least -67 °F. The alloy is used primarily as structural components for support and substrate in optical and laser systems requiring accurate measurements.
