Alloy 42

UNS K94100

Description

42
NICKEL ALLOY

Alloy 42 is a nickel iron alloy containing 41% nickel with a silvery-white lustrous. It belongs to the controlled expansion and low expansion alloy groups with low and constant coefficient of thermal expansion from 20 °C to 300 °C, which makes the alloy with the ability to withstand extreme temperatures and makes the seal resistant to shock and cracking. In addition, Alloy 42 has the properties of good workability, weldability and easy to machine. All of these features make it well suited to applications where the thermal expansion must be minimized.
