Titanium Grade 9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V)
UNS R56320
Description
Titanium Grade 9 (Ti-3Al-2.5V) is an alpha-beta alloy, sometimes referred to as 'half 6-4' due to its half aluminum and vanadium contents compared to Ti-6Al-4V. Even though, the containing of 3% aluminum and 2.5% vanadium makes it with much more strength than the commercially pure (CP) titanium grades, and the strength falls between Grade 4 and Grade 5. Like CP grade, it is weldable and can be cold rolled. Ti-3Al-2.5V also exhibits good ductility and toughness, and has great corrosion resistance for mildly reducing to mildly oxidizing media, including chlorides. The alloy is used widely within the aerospace, chemical processing, medical, marine, and automotive markets.
