Description
Magnesium alloy EV31A is magnesium-based sandcasting alloy containing neodymium, gadolinium, and zinc for used to approximately 200 ℃. This alloy has high strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent castability. Specifically, it has excellent castability as a consequence of low oxidation characteristics; it has fine-grained microstructure; and it is pressure tight. Castings should be heat treated after welding to obtain optimum properties (Castings are given the T6 heat treatment to obtain optimum mechanical properties).
