Alloy 925

UNS N09925

Description

925
NICKEL ALLOY

Alloy 925 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, titanium and aluminium. The titanium and aluminium are specifically added to give a strengthening of the alloy during ageing. High levels of nickel ensure protection against stress corrosion cracking, while the additional molybdenum and copper resist reducing environments, in the same way that chromium resists oxidising environments. Molybdenum also enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It can be seen that the chemical composition of this alloy is intended to provide a combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Alloy 925 is suitable for sour gas applications including down-hole and surface gas and well components.
