Alloy 625

UNS N06625

Description

625
NICKEL ALLOY

Alloy 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy with high strength, outstanding aqueous corrosion resistance and superb weldability. The strength of Alloy 625 is primarily a solid solution effect from molybdenum and columbium. The combination of the alloyed elements in Alloy 625 gives it to withstand a wide variety of severe corrosive environments and there is almost no attack in mild environments, such as fresh and seawater, neutral pH environments, and alkaline media. In addition, it has the characteristics of high tensile, creep and rupture strength, outstanding fatigue and thermal-fatigue strength, as well as good oxidation resistance. Alloy 625 is the alloy of choice for weld overlay applications in the oil and gas/petrochemical and refineries markets and it also has wide use in aerospace as well as marine industries.
