330 Stainless Steel
UNS N08330
Description
330 stainless steel is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy metled as AOD melt type. This grade is comprised of approximately 36% nickel giving it excellent high temperature oxidation resistance up to 2200 °F. The ultra high nickel content of the stainless steel also provides high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and embrittlement from the precipitation of sigma phase in most furnace atmospheres. The alloy also has a low coefficient of expansion, excellent ductility and high strength. Due to these properties, this alloy is suitable for high temperature industrial environments where good resistance to the combined effects of carburization and thermal cycling are required.
