Description
The Tungsten-Rhenium (W-Re) alloy is a solid solution strengthened alloy based on tungsten and added with rhenium. Tungsten-Rhenium alloy can be used over a wide temperature range and standard temperature are available from 0℃ to 2315℃. Tungsten-rhenium alloys are more ductile at low temperature while stability under high temperature is improved as while. The effect increases with the rhenium concentration and usually Tungsten-Rhenium are produced up to 26% of rhenium. The cost of these materials is relatively lower compared to noble Pt and Rh.

Applications
Tungsten and rhenium are refractory metals, while they have shortcomings, for example, pure tungsten is brittle, and the recrystallization temperature is very low; pure rhenium has poor processing performance and is expensive.
