Titanium Grade 3

UNS R50550

Description

Grade 3
TITANIUM ALLOY

Same as Titanium Grade 1 and Grade 2, Titanium Grade 3 is unalloyed titanium and commercially pure titanium grades. However, Titanium Grade 3 provides higher mechanical strength (typical yield strength is 462 MPa) compared with Titanium Grade 1 and Grade 2, while displaying similar ductility and formability with Titanium Grade 2 and showing similar corrosion stability with Titanium Grade 1 and Grade 2. Titanium Grade 3 features excellent strength-to-density ratio and excellent corrosion resistance. These make it suitable for the manufacture of components in weight-saving structures with reduced mass forces, and also for components requiring high corrosion resistance. In addition, it has improved strength, good weldability, moderate ductility, and outstanding weldability. Titanium Grade 3 is widely used in chemical industry, aerospace industry and medical engineering.
