Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al
UNS 56410
Description
Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al, also known as Ti 10-2-3, is a near-beta titanium alloy. The alloy is characterized by high strength, high toughness, excellent forgeability, and good hardenability. The strength and corresponding toughness can be adjusted in a wide range through appropriate selection of forging parameters and heat treatment, and the hot-die forgeability is best in any commercial titanium alloy. Its excellent forgeability allows it to be used in near-net shape forging applications. The main semi-finished form of this alloy is rod and forging material; it can also be made into thick plate and profile, especially suitable for making isothermal forging die and hot-working die. The alloy is developed primarily for use in high-strength (180 ksi (1241 MPa) UTS range) airframe forging.

Additional Properties
Corrosion Resistance: Corrosion resistance is generally excellent for Ti-10V-2Fe-3AI, although, the alloy is sometimes susceptible to salt stress corrosion cracking.
Machining: Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al is somewhat more difficult to machine than Ti-6Al-4V but less difficult than all beta titanium alloys.
Welding: The weldability of this Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al is judged to be comparable to that for Ti-6Al-4V.
Forming: Forming for Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al is considered moderately good in the solution annealed condition and better than near alpha alloys and alpha + beta alloys.
