Nitronic 50 Stainless Steel
UNS S20910
Description
Nitronic 50 (XM-19) is an austenitic premium stainless steel that provides better corrosion resistance than 300 or 400 series stainless. Nitronic 50 is composed of high chromium (Cr) and high nickel (Ni) content, with nitrogen, manganese and molybdenum added to improve its corrosion resistance. It has excellent mechanical properties at high and sub-zero temperatures, excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments, good strength and low permeability. The combination of these excellent properties makes the alloy the first choice for high-risk applications such as medical implants.
