Niobium Wire
Description

Niobium (Nb) is a lustrous, light gray, ductile, metallic element that resembles tantalum chemically, platinum in color. Niobium wire is made of niobium bar through the following steps: i) rolling niobium bar to the right size, ii) acid pickling surface of niobium rods to remove oil and impurities, iii) cleaning with clear water, trimming both ends of the niobium rod, and iv) according to the actual needs, trimming and stretching for several times until get the right size of the niobium wire.

This specification covers four grades of wrought niobium wire, niobium alloy ribbon, niobium strip, niobium alloy strip, niobium foil, niobium alloy foil, niobium sheet, niobium alloy sheet, niobium plate, niobium alloy plate as follows:
1. ASTM B 392 -03 UNS R04200 -Type 1, Reactor grade unalloyed niobium;
2. ASTM B 392 -03 UNS R04210 -Type 2, Commercial grade unalloyed niobium;
3. ASTM B 392 -03 UNS R04251 -Type 3, Reactor grade niobium alloy containing 1% zirconium;
4. ASTM B 392 -03 UNS R04261 -Type 4, Commercial grade niobium alloy containing 1% zirconium.
