Naval Brass C46400
UNS C46400
Description
Naval Brass C46400, also known as C462, is a lead-free naval brass designed for primary forming into wrought products. It is a 60:40 copper-zinc alloy with about 1% of tin to improve the corrosion resistance, particularly to dezincification. C46400 is very useful because of its strength, ductility & formability, fair electrical conductivity, and good corrosion resistance. It is widely used for structural applications and for forgings, especially where contact with seawater is likely to induce corrosion.
