Description
Custom 450® is a specialized age-hardenable martensitic stainless steel that provides moderate strength (similar to 410 stainless steel), as well as enhanced corrosion resistance (similar to 304 stainless steel) due to high chromium content. It also exhibits an excellent yield strength in the annealed condition and it could be easily fabricated and the extremely high yield strength makes it resistant to stretching when subjected to tensile forces. The stainless can be machined, hot-worked, and cold-formed in the same manner as other martensitic age-hardenable stainless steels with mechanical properties that will depend on the aging temperature selected. These characteristics make it can be used in a variety of applications.
