Description

6063
ALUMINUM ALLOY

Aluminum alloy 6063 is another popular aluminum alloy with magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements, and it is often referred to as architectural alloy due to the much smoother surface quality than that of the other widely viable alloys. The alloy has medium strength, high corrosion resistance, good formability and is heat treatable and readily suited to welding. It is a top choice for use in the production of intricate extrusions and sections because of its properties, as it is easily pushed through a die into many fixed-cross sectional shapes. It is normally produced with a good surface finish that lends itself to excellent anodising characteristics. Thus, it is typically used in various exterior and interior architectural applications and is highly suitable for anodising.
