Description

5251
ALUMINUM ALLOY

Aluminum alloy 5251 is non-heat treatable alloy with medium strength. It is readily weldable and offers higher mechanical properties together with a good cold formability. Thus, it is generally designed for general sheet metal work where higher mechanical properties are required together with a degree of formability. And the alloy offers a high corrosion resistance in marine, offshore and industrial environments. It should be noted that aluminum alloy 5251 is known for work hardening rapidly so care needs to be taken during the forming process.
