5052
UNS A95052
Description
Aluminum alloy 5052 belongs to the 5000 series aluminum alloy with magnesium as main alloy element. 5052 is one of the higher strength non-heat treatable alloys and it provides higher strength than 1100 and 3003 when annealed. The alloy has high fatigue strength which make it a good choice for structures subjected to excessive vibration. It also has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine atmosphere and salt water. Due to the main alloying element of magnesium, it shows good weldability and formability. As a result, the metal is best suited for use forming fabrication. 5052 has a wide range of applications, especially in the construction industry and marine components.
