Description
Aluminum alloy 2124 is a high-purity version of 2024 developed specifically for high-temperature applications. Aluminum alloy 2124 offers good strength and creep resistance with a better fracture toughness than 2024. The alloy is normally supplied in plate, and thus its formability is limited. Aluminum alloy 2124 is cold worked to a limited extent in comparison to other aluminum alloys. This alloy is highly recommended for aerospace sector and is also used in applications requiring improved short-transverse ductility.
