2017A
Description
Aluminum alloy 2017A is a precipitation-hardened wrought alloy that offers an attractive combination of high strength, excellent fatigue resistance and good ductility. 2017A also has very good machining and good corrosion resistance characteristics. However, traditional welding will affect the corrosion resistance of the alloy, so it is only suitable for resistance welding. In addition, aluminum alloy 2017A can obtain a wide range of properties by heat treated, depending on the desired application. Typically used of 2017A is structural components in the aerospace industry.
