Description

1060
ALUMINUM ALLOY

Aluminum alloy 1060 is a commercially pure wrought aluminum, formed from a combination of aluminum and other elements. It is fundamentally very similar to 1050 aluminum alloy, with the difference coming down to 0.1% aluminum by weight. It has excellent welding, formability and corrosion resistance characteristics, as well as high electrical conductivity, but low strength. However, it can be strengthened by cold working instead of heat treatment. In addition, its machinability varies with conditions with poor machinability at high temperature but good machinability in H16 and H18 cold working status. Aluminum alloy 1060 is commonly used in the electrical and chemical industries.
