Alloy X
UNS N06002
Description
Alloy X is a non-magnetic, nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy with outstanding strength, oxidation resistance and fabricability. Its strength and oxidation resistance are high up to 1500 °F (816 °C) and 2200 °F (1204 °C), respectively. It has also been found to be exceptionally resistant to stress-corrosion cracking in petrochemical applications and especially resistant to carburization and nitriding. However, due to the high content of molybdenum, Alloy X may undergo severe oxidation at 2200 °F. The alloy is used extensively in high temperature jet engine and chemical processing applications.
