Alloy B-2
UNS N10665
Description
Alloy B-2 is a solid-solution strengthened nickel-molybdenum alloy with significantly lower carbon, silicon and iron to reduce weld zone corrosion in the as-welded condition when compared to the Alloy B. Molybdenum is the primary alloying element which makes Alloy B-2 with significant resistance to reducing environments such as hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric acid, acetic acid and phosphoric acid, and resistance to pure sulfuric acid and a number of non-oxidizing acids. Alloy B-2 is suitable for various chemical process applications in its welded form, and is suitable for extreme reducing conditions. However, Alloy B-2 should not be used in oxidizing media and the high temperatures condition of 1000 °F to 1600 °F.
