Alloy 825
UNS N08825
Description
Alloy 825 is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium grade with additions of molybdenum, copper and titanium, which is the forerunner of many of the molybdenum containing nickel iron chromium alloys. The high nickel content ensures resistance to stress corrosion cracking, addition of molybdenum and copper provides alloy with strongly resist reducing environments such as sulphuric and phosphoric acids, chromium provides alloy with oxidising resistance environments such as nitric acid, and the titanium content ensures inhibition of intergranular corrosion, and overall resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Thus, the alloy has excellent corrosion resistance, and it is suitable for those environments that require excellent corrosion resistant alloys.
