Alloy 80A
UNS N07080
Description
Alloy 80A is a wrought, age-hardened nickel-chromium alloy that is precipitation hardenable by additives like titanium, aluminium and carbon. It has good oxidation resistance, high tensile, excellent heat resistance, as well as good creep-rupture at temperatures to 815 °C (1500 °F). It also offers excellent corrosion resistance in oxidising atmospheres including under cyclical conditions of heating and cooling. The excellent corrosion resistance is attributed to the formation of a chromium oxide film (CrO3) on the alloy surface, which protects the alloy from continuous corrosion and provides high scaling resistance at high temperatures. These performances make the Alloy 80A very suitable for many industries including aerospace, oil and gas, power generation and motorsport.
