Alloy 600
UNS N06600
Description
Alloy 600, often referred to as Inconel 600, is a nickel-chromium, solid solution strengthened alloy. The high nickel content gives the alloy good corrosion resistance in many media and resistance to dry chlorine up to 538 °C and enables it to retain considerable resistance under reducing conditions. Alloy 600 also has excellent oxidation resistance up to 1093 °C combined with high carburisation resistance. Additionally, it is non-magnetic, has excellent mechanical properties, and presents the desirable combination of high strength and good weldability under a wide range of temperatures. The unique properties of Alloy 600 make it perfect for use in the heat treating industry.
