Alloy 22
UNS N06022
Description
Alloy 22 is a fully austenitic, nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with better overall corrosion resistance compared to other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, including alloy C-276, alloy C4 and alloy 625. It exhibits excellent resistance to both oxidising and reducing acid environments as well as those containing mixed acids due to the addition of high chromium content and molybdenum and tungsten content. It also has exceptional resistance to a large range of chemical process environments, including ferric chlorides, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions, acetic acids, seawater and brine solutions. Thus, Alloy 22 is the ideal choice when considering alloys for use in extreme corrosive environments such as chemical/petrochemical processing, pollution control (flue gas desulfurization), power, marine, pulp and paper processing, and waste disposal industries.
