AL-6XN® Alloy Stainless Steel

UNS N08367

Description

AL-6XN
STAINLESS STEEL

AL-6XN is a type of weldable stainless steel. AL-6XN alloy has the high nickel and molybdenum contents that gives it good resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking. In addition, the molybdenum gives chloride pitting resistance to AL-6XN alloy and the nitrogen content serves to further increase pitting resistance and also gives AL-6XN alloy higher strength than typical 300 series austenitic stainless steels. Thereby, AL-6XN alloy can be used in thinner sections and is suitable for perchloride water solution and chloride corrosion environment.
