Description

1547
CARBON STEEL

AISI 1547 steel is a medium-carbon alloy steel formulated for primary forming into wrought products. The steel has good combination of strength and ductility and has excellent corrosion resistance because it is made up of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. The addition of chromium also gives SAE/AISI 1547 steel good heat resistance properties. It can withstand temperatures up to 1250 °F (677 °C) without losing its structural integrity or becoming brittle. These properties make it a great choice for many industrial applications, from automotive manufacturing to heavy-duty construction projects where extra strength is needed, such as bridges or buildings with large spans between support beams.
