AISI 1095
UNS G10950
Description
AISI 1095 carbon steel, also known as 95 carbon spring steel, is a high-carbon steel that offers maximum surface hardness with high strength and wear resistance. It also has good corrosion resistance and heat resistance. With good performance and low cost, AISI 1095 steel becomes one of the most widely used 10 series steels. It is often used for knives, swords, and other cutting tools and often preferred in industries where long-term performance and stringent quality requirements are paramount, such as the aerospace and automotive sectors. However, it is important to note that AISI 1095 should not be used at temperatures above 700 degrees Fahrenheit, as it may lose some of its strength at high temperatures.
