Description

1018
CARBON STEEL

AISI 1018 steel is a mild/low-carbon steel that is one of the market's most commonly available ferrous alloys, which has excellent weldability and produces a uniform and harder case and it is considered as the best steel for carburized parts. In addition, it offers a good balance of toughness, strength and ductility and has excellent formability, as well as good corrosion and heat resistance. Although its mechanical properties are not very unique, it still can be easily formed, machined, welded and fabricated. Due to its versatility, AISI 1018 carbon steel can be applied in vast industrial tools and equipment, ranging from construction vehicles to smaller components such as screws and nuts.
