AISI 1010

UNS G10100

Description

1010
CARBON STEEL

AISI 1010 is a low-carbon alloy with about 0.10% carbon content. The steel has good formability and weldability while it has relatively low strength but it can be quenched and tempered to increase strength. It is recommended for sheet stock for deep-drawing operations and in sheet and stock for structural shapes and carburized parts. Among its many applications are bushings, clutch discs, flanges, thrust washers, tinplate, nails, rivets, automobile bodies and fenders, pans and transmission cover.
