418 Stainless Steel

UNS S41800

Description

418
STAINLESS STEEL

418 stainless steel, also known as 'Greek Ascoloy', is a martensitic chromium-tungsten-nickel stainless designed for services up to 1200 °F. This steel is an extremely deep-hardening grade and it has a superior creep strength and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and tempering as compared to the general properties of 12% chromium stainless steels. In addition, 418 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, high harness, toughness and strength. Typical applications are steam turbine buckets and blades as well as compressor parts in gas turbines and high temperature bolts.
