410 Stainless Steel
UNS S41000
Description
410 stainless steel is known as one of the most commonly used martensitic steels. It has the following characteristics: 1) high strength; 2) excellent machinability; 3) hardening occurs after heat treatment; 4) magnetic; 5) not suitable for harsh corrosive environment. However, as the martensitic steel, 410 stainless steel is one of the most difficult welding of stainless steels. A wide range of properties of 410 stainless steel can be achieved with different heat treatments, and the heat treatment includes annealing, hardening, quenching, tempering and stress relief. Applications requiring moderate corrosion resistance and high mechanical properties are ideal for this alloy.
