302 Stainless Steel

UNS S30200

Description

302
STAINLESS STEEL

Stainless type 302 may be said to be the original 18/8 stainless steel. It is an austenitic stainless steel for safe continuous use up to 1600 °F (870 °C) and is resistant to atmospheric corrosion and a wide range of inorganic chemicals. The alloy is not hardenable by heat treatment and in non-magnetic in the annealed condition. It becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working.
